A Christmas Homecoming

(Copied from the Operation Christmas Child brochure called
"The Power of A Simple Gift")

It's an emotional journey each time Sorina Riddle returns to her native Romania to reconnect with family and friends - and to relive the
bittersweet memories of childhood.

"Every time I gave out a box, I could see my face on those kids' faces," Sorina said. "I know how much the gifts mean to them. Every
item is a treasure."

Sorina was 12 years old when she received a shoe box gift at a church Christmas program in the city of Craiova. An orange or a banana
were usually the best presents she could hope for, so to open a package containing a wool hat and scarf and school supplies was an
amazing treat.

At the time Sorina knew very little about Jesus, but she and her family started going to church after the Christmas distribution. The
congregation reached out to them during her father's battle with cancer and continued to minister to them after his death. Her mother
and brother later accepted Christ as Savior. So did Sorina.

Sorina has lived in the United States since 2005 and currently teaches at a North Carolina university. As a spokesperson for Operation
Christmas Child, she has shared her testimony at dozens of churches and media events.

NOTE FROM NELL BROWN:

MAY I TAKE YOU ON AN EXCITING TRIP?

THE BIBLE COMMANDS US TO SPEAK THE GOSPEL TO ALL THE WORLD.

ONE PART OF THE WORLD THAT GOD IS DOING GREAT THINGS IS: "KULEA CHILDCARE VILLAGE" IN EAST AFRICA, COUNTRY LANZINA, TOWN OF CHALINZE.
LANZINA IS AS LARGE AS TEXAS AND LOUISIANA. THE HIGHEST POINT IS MT. KILIMONJARO. MANY OF THE AFRICAN TRIBES WHO LIVE THERE ARE VERY
POOR AND NEEDY.

LAND HAS BEEN PURCHASED AND THERE WILL BE A DEDICATION OF THE LAND TO JESUS CHRIST. THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WILL BE PRESENT, AND
IT WILL BE A GREAT OCCASION FOR ALL. DEBORAH BROWN IS THE DIRECTOR OF THIS LARGE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION "KULEA CHILDCARE VILLAGE".
SHE NOW SPEAKS THE LANGUAGE AND HAS A "RAPPORT" WITH HIGH RANKING OFFICIALS; BUT MOST OF ALL HER "RAPPORT" IS WITH JESUS.

GOD HAS GIVEN A GROUP OF PEOPLE FROM A CHURCH IN MASSACHUTES A MANDATE TO GO!

I'M SURE I CAN SPEAK FOR THOSE DEDICATED TO THIS TRIP AND OTHERS TOO IN ASKING YOU TO:

PLEASE SUPPORT THEM WITH YOUR PRAYERS.

DATE: OCTOBER 2-17, 2011

AGENDA: BUILD CHURCH BLDG , CLINIC, AND A HOME FOR ONSITE CARETAKER.
